The PTC semiconductor electric heating boiler module is an electric heating device based on semiconductor technology that utilizes the properties of PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) materials. PTC materials are a specialized type of semiconductor whose electrical resistance increases as the temperature rises—a characteristic known as a positive temperature coefficient.
This PTC semiconductor electric boiler features a design that physically separates the water and electrical components. The heating unit employs a flow-through heating principle, utilizing ceramic heating elements that are tightly bonded to the exterior of the fluid conduit. Heat is transferred through the metal conduit wall; because the ceramic heating elements do not come into direct contact with the water, true separation of water and electricity is achieved. If the system runs dry or a thermostat failure leaves the heater without a load, the surface temperature of the heater rises to approximately 200°C, causing its electrical resistance to spike dramatically. At this point, the heating unit effectively becomes an insulator and cuts off the power supply, thereby protecting the entire circuit; virtually no current flows through the unit and no power is consumed, preventing burnout even during prolonged dry-firing. Heating resumes automatically once the temperature drops or water flow is restored within the conduit. Consequently, the heating unit can withstand extended periods of dry-firing without load, posing no risk of explosion, electric leakage, or fire.
